Eating out

You have a wide choice for eating out within 5 - 10 minutes drive every day of the week. There are excellent local restaurants, pubs, bistros and cafes including four restaurants featured in the Michelin Good Food Guide. We are very happy to help you with advice and advance booking, which is strongly recommended for both tables and taxis at weekends and busy times. Whether you fancy Welsh lamb, fish and chips by the beach, or good pub grub with a screen to watch the rugby, we'll help you find it here!

You can walk, or even better, bike to a couple of local pubs. It's an hour and 15 minutes walk along the beautiful Mawddach Estuary Trail, or 25 minutes by bike on cycle path all the way to the George III at Penmaenpool (closing for refurbishment from October 18 until Spring 19). Or you can take the Mawddach Trail over one of the most iconic and scenic bridges in the country to the pubs and cafes of Barmouth. You can borrow a bike from us.

Some of our favourite local restuarants include: Bwyty Mawddach , The Salt Marsh Kitchen Indiana Cuisine, Tafarn y Gader Tapas Bar, Dylanwad and Bistro Bermo. And it's always hard to resist having second helpings of Meg's amazing cakes at TH Roberts cafe in Dolgellau!

We will email you a wide list of places to eat out when we confirm your booking at The Slate Shed.
